I'm Dr Pooley — a qualified maths teacher with over 10 years' experience helping students build real understanding, strengthen their confidence, and make meaningful progress.

I believe every child can succeed in maths — the key is finding the right approach. Over my 10+ years of teaching, I've worked with students across the full range: from Year 7 all the way through to A-Level and university admissions.
My teaching style is calm, patient and structured. I create lessons where students feel comfortable asking questions, tackling challenges, and developing confidence in their own mathematical thinking.
Every session combines clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and carefully chosen exam-style questions — so students leave feeling more capable, motivated, and proud of their progress.
I hold a BSc in Mathematics, QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), a PGCE in Secondary Maths, and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Exeter.
